A meeting was conducted under the chairpersonship of Additional Secretary Shri S. Gopalakrishnan and Additional Secretary Dr. Manohar Agnani on 3rd June, 2022 at Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi with stakeholders from Allied and Healthcare Professions for collection of databases of professionals for Health Professionals, Register. The meeting was attended by representatives' associations along with officials from the Ministry. President, AIOTA Dr. Anil K. Srivastava, Dean, ACOT Dr. Jyothika N. Bijlani and EC Member Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma attended the meeting as representatives from the All India Occupational Therapists' Association (AIOTA). It was stressed in the meeting that the majority of available data should be provided by the associations before 15th June, 2022, the tentative date for the launch of the HpR database to the general public by the Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare. The AIOTA has sent the available and also collected database of about 2500 members before the deadline.
The AIOTA representatives informed that them about 50 colleges across the country imparting BOT courses only and no Diploma courses exist anywhere. The MOT and PhD programs are also available in most of the colleges. The country has about 35,000 graduate occupational therapists but many of them have migrated to overseas countries for lucrative opportunities. At present the association has about 6000 professionals' data. The AIOTA assured they will reach further with all colleges to-get database of the entire professional across the country.

An Interim Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions with nominations from all stakeholder has been setup by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Following members of the AIOTA from National Institutes have been nominated as members:

| Mou With Prs Neurosciences|| |
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) carries an agreement which outlines the commitments of the Academic Council of Occupational Therapy (ACOT) of All India Occupational Therapists' Association (AIOTA) and Sri Hayagreeva Center for Functional Neurosciences of PRS Neurosciences & Mechatronics Research Institute (PNMRI), regarding the offering of “Advanced Certification Course in Neuro-Modulation with Neuro-Rehabilitation for Occupational Therapist” being jointly organized by PRS Neurosciences and Mechatronic Research Institute (PNMRI) Bengaluru & the AIOTA. This agreement will be reviewed after a period of 3 years for its further continuation. The AIOTA agrees to provide a link to the course “Advanced Certificate in Neuro-modulation with Neuro-rehabilitation for Occupational Therapist” for the promotion on the home page of AIOTA Website www.aiota.org.
The agreement is jointly signed by Dr. Pratibha Sharan, CEO, PRS Neurosciences and Mechatronics Research Institute and President AIOTA on 1st June, 2022.
| 1St Posi Midyear Meeting in Mumbai|| |
The first Mid-Year Meeting of Paediatric Orthopedic Society of India is scheduled on 16th & 17th July 2022 at Hotel Courtyard by Marriot, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra. This meeting is hosted by CORE Foundation. The AIOTA is also one of the partnering organizations to POSI. President AIOTA Dr. Anil K. Srivastava, and EC Member Dr. Punita V. Solanki are designated national faculties. Dr. Trupti Nikharge, Member of the AIOTA and EC Member, IACP is also designated as national faculty. President AIOTA has deputed Dean ACOT Dr. Jyothika N. Bijlani to attend the POSI meeting on his behalf.
This meeting is focused on developing evidence-based protocols for early detection and management of the DDH and hip problems on 16th July 2022, supplemented by the work done by POSI with other organizations on screening and surveillance of these disorders, with a view to implementation of such programs. Controversies in the evidence base and knowledge gaps will also be identified for the future research. On 17th July 2022, evidence-based management of Cerebral Palsy Hip will be focused upon, based on the collaborative efforts between organizations in the surveillance guidelines development.

The 35th FOT Council Meeting will take place from 23rd to 26th August, 2022 at Hotel Mercure Porte De Versailles Expo, Vanves, Paris. The 18th WFOT Congress is also scheduled from 28th to 31st August, 2022 at Paris Convention Center, Paris, France. Visit http://wfotcongress2022.org. President and Honorary Secretary of the AIOTA will be attending the events. WFOT Congress 2022 social events will be available on the Congress 2022 website.

WHO partnered with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the GReAT publication to present a comprehensive dataset and analysis of current assistive technology access. The report outlines recommendations for concrete actions to improve needed access to assistive technology.

| Wfot: Global Occupational Therapy Human Resources Strategy Survey|| |
WFOT is conducting a consultative process with a goal of developing the first-ever Global Occupational Therapy Human Resources Strategy. We would like obtain the perspectives of WFOT delegates for the development of the Strategy through completion of an online survey. The responses of this survey will be analysed and presented during the WFOT Council Meeting in August 2022 in Paris for further discussion. The consultative process will lead to further refining of the strategies and consultation with an international advisory group prior to final approval of the Global Strategy on the Occupational Therapy Workforce. | Wfot Membership Certificate to Individual Members|| |
The AIOTA's Agenda Item since WFOT Council Meeting of 2008 for the issuance of membership certificate at least in soft copy to individual members of WFOT is accepted in principle by the WFOT Executive Management Team. The Executive Director WFOT Ritchard Ledgard has informed the final decision to this effect will be taken in WFOT Council Meeting 2022 at Paris. This Agenda item was re-sent to WFOT for decision in the Council Meeting 2022.
| 82 Occupational Therapists Appointed in Bihar|| |
Government of Bihar has collectively appointed 82 occupational therapists in the State Hospitals and Medical Colleges vide Bihar Government Order Dated 30-6-2022. The appointments are based upon recommendation by Bihar Technical Services Commission, Patna.

Ergonomic suitability certification recently has been issued after carrying out inspection as per set norms to the following furniture industries with validity of 1 year:

The members of the AIOTA are reminded to contribute in the specialty edition of 2022, as research authors. The theme for specialty edition of the IJOT 2022, Volume 54, Issue 4 (October - December) for the year 2022 shall be ”Exploring the Potentials through Activities and Occupation”.
The IJOT editorial board invites study protocols, original research articles, review articles, case reports, expert research perspectives, and/or evidence-based clinical summaries, on the use of activities and occupation in occupational therapy service delivery, from authors across the globe, on or before 31st August, 2022.

International Conference on Autism
On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Month, the SRM College of Occupational Therapy conducted a two-day International Conference on Autism (ICA-2022)on the theme “Recent Advancement in Autism- Global Perspective on the 21st and 22nd of April 2022. A total of 16 International and National expert speakers in their respective fields are connected to us through the hybrid. 1500 delegates attended across national and overseas online and offline. The Keynote Address was delivered by one of the senior-most occupational therapists Dr. Anjali Joshi. Along with her, we had 8 International and 7 National Speakers delivering their presentation on several nuances of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Conference was inauguarated by the Honourable Governor of Tamilnadu, Mr.R.N. Ravi. Founder Chancellor of SRMIST invited the proposal from occupational therapy college to have a Centre of Excellence for Autism. The scientific events encompassed the Oral Paper Presentation, E-Poster, and Mini Movies by Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Special Educators under Student and Professional delegate categories. Dr.Joseph Sunny, Secretary of AIOTA felicitated the winners in the valedictory function.
